Who We Are

Just some kids on a mission to help out Chicago one care package at a time!

Windy City Give Back was started out of our apartment. It was the holiday season, and we were looking for a way to help those dealing homelessness during the cold winter. We came up with the idea to create care packages filled with winter clothing items for Inspiration Corporation, a Chicagoland area nonprofit. We had ten of our friends over, created 40 care packages, and all went out to lunch together.

And we thought “Damn, that was fun! Let’s do that again!”

Since then, our events have grown to host up to 40 volunteers at a time — and we're just getting started. We've partnered with LG’s Bar & Kitchen in Old Town as the official home of our care package drives. We've held four successful events, and we’re excited to keep building momentum and making an even bigger impact!

  • Absolutely not! Many people who attend the events come alone - Windy City Give Back is all about building connections with people you otherwise wouldn’t have met.

  • Our events are fully funded by our members. Your attendance fee goes directly toward the event itself — $25 covers the care package materials, and $5 goes toward the pizza and salad we provide for lunch.

    We never want cost to be a barrier to attending! If the fee is an issue, please don’t hesitate to reach out — we’re happy to work something out :)
